GUILD MENTORS Guild Mentors are the officers who are responsible for the organisation and continued improvement of guild members of their class. They have a deep understanding of all aspects of their class, and are experienced in grouping with other classes most effectively. Mentors understand how different talent builds can be used, and how they complement each other They are familiar with the best equipment to use for a build, and where to get it - not only the very best, but the very good as well. They understand the different skills available to their class, when to use them, and how they can affect aggro or prevent wipes. Mentors are also leaders. Every class performs a different role in end-game instances, and the Guild Mentors are the people who make sure people know what to do. Players unfamiliar with what they should be doing are guided by the Mentors until they are familiar and comfortable doing their job. Players that for any reason find it difficult learning to work with others in a raid are the Mentor's responsibility; the Mentors decide the best way to improve the raid for everyone else. As part of their leadership, they also resolve disputes between members of their class. They answer complaints, listen to opinions, and ultimately decide what should be done. When new people apply to join the guild, they have the deciding vote on whether to invite them or not - other officers contribute, but the Guild Mentor is the person who has the best understanding about a potential recruit's effect on the guild. Not everyone would want to be a Guild Mentor; we play the game for different reasons, and taking on responsibility for other people is understandably unappealing for a lot of people. The people who do accept a position as Mentor are those who genuinely want to help improve other players, willing to spend time and effort working with their class. Mentors are the people who keep trying even when difficult problems frustrate them, because they want to keep progressing rather than give up.
