After a lot of thought and debate with other people, I've made some changes to the guild. First, here are our new ranks. They're not too different to the old ones, just renamed really - but they actually mean something now. Recruits are now known as Trial Members. Trial members (provisionally) will have one week to show the guild that they're good at the game (welcome Zveki, our new 60 warrior by the way). Members are now known as Citizens. Veterans are now known as Raiders. And Raiders are exactly that - the members who come on guild raids and help get us further into the end game instances. Officers are now known as Mentors. More on that in a sec. Founders are now known as Generals. Commanders have remained exactly the same, with Crem, Eni, and Feedel staying right where they are. Oh, and I'm still Guild Master. OK, now, aside from renaming the ranks, we've done a lot of promoting and demoting. Anyone who has been raiding to MC and ZG with the guild has been promoted to Raider, and likewise people who have not been raiding with us are now Citizens. Citizens are people who have not yet been raiding much, or simply chosen not to join the guild on end game instances for whatever reason. Also, all the officers have been demoted to Raider.
Now is the fun bit: choosing the new guild Mentors. Guild mentors will have an interesting job. They will be responsible for organising and helping to improve the Raiders in their class, by giving advice, answering questions, steering people towards more useful builds, and generally keeping everyone in line. Outside of raids, they should be available to help people in their class (not every second of the game of course), and inside of raids they need to assign roles and keep their class organised. It might sound like a lot, but basically it means that there will be someone who will make sure the different areas of our guild keep improving and developing. OK, so, first I'd like to give people the chance to nominate themselves and other people as a Mentor. I posted a similar thread in the officer's forum a couple of days ago to give the officers a chance to do the same, and they will be the first people nominated. After we've got enough candidates, I will post a poll where people can vote. Note that the officers will be getting my votes by default, and I encourage people to at least consider them above others as they really are good (well... I'm not sure about Crematicus but he won't be on the list so don't worry). If you post a nomination, please also include the reasons you think this person would be good for the job. The reason for the changes are basically so we can keep the guild a fun place to be, but organise things a bit more logically now that the nature of the guild has changed (some people might say matured?). I'm sure, as always, there will be some differences of opinions, so feel free to shout at me if you feel strongly about something.
Executive Summary Ranks have been renamed and assigned meaning to people's roles in the guild. Officers have been demoted. People now need to nominate themselves or others as Mentors to replace the officers (and say why). We will then vote on who will become the new Mentors.
So far, candidates for Guild Mentor are: Kevo (hunter) Elwing (priest) Kamui (druid) Devonium (druid) Sirjoey (paladin) Kaiwen (paladin) cheers, - Fin.
