This is a simple addon that pops up an icon of the totem that just
died. This is useful for people that tend to miss the text based
warnings. There is an update timer that keeps the icons up for about
30 seconds but there seems to be some fluctuations there but there is
also the ability to turn the icons off yourself by clicking on them.

Options are as follows:
size x - resizes icons ( valid sizes 32 to 128 ) but best with power of 2 values
timer x - sets the update timer ( valid numbers 5 to 60 ) seconds that is
hide - hides the window
show - shows the window
lock - locks the window in place
free - frees the window so it can be moved
Anything else will reset to defaults of the following:
size = 32
hide the window
timer = 30
free movement
Foreign Language Versions
At the present this plugin does not support multi language settings.
enUS and enGB versions will work fine however and the ability to add new
languages is possible using the TotemDeathWatcher_L values accordingly.
Description:
This addon was born from a request by Zulaika on these forums.
They requested that an icon be displayed in the middle of the screen whenever a totem died as the text displayed in other addons were missed.
The icons can be resized with the smallest at 32 pixels and the largest at 128 pixels. There are some other options available as well which are displayed on screen when you first log in and also in the read me file.
The addon tracks the SPELL_SUMMON and UNIT_DIED combat messages to watch for totems being summoned and then dying. The addon ignores deaths if they are due to resummoning of a similar totem when the old totem is still alive. It does however track when you release all your totems as shown by the picture attached.
There is an update timer in place which all 4 buttons should be tracking but some seem to ignore it and others seem to be over eager. Worse case scenario in this situation is that 1. the totem icon disappears too quickly and 2. the totem doesn't disappear at all. The former seems to stay on screen at least a few seconds before it disappears and the latter can be clicked off by the user.
Seeing as there are other totem addons around that may well deal with the majority of shaman related abilities there probably will not be any more changes to this addon barring fixes to problems found and perhaps anything that will enhance the death watching abilities.
I have tested this with Warlock summoning and can confirm that it simply ignores the warlock summoning and stops processing the combat log part of this addon at that point. Not having a hunter I cannot confirm that will work accordingly but assume it will. |
