Description:
It's Back! Now updated for Cataclysm!
This will not work on the live realms, as it uses a new function from the Cata client.
Since the previous models had disappeared, the new models are different. But this means that I finally found some that I like. Screenshots have been updated.
This addon creates a swirly fog effect along the bottom of your screen using animated models from the game, colored by combat/resting status. Height and alpha of the fog are configurable.
It was inspired by FogBG by yleaf, which creates frames that hold the blue fog to use as backgrounds for the elements of your UI. AmbienceAura, however, places the fog along the bottom of your screen, and will color green if resting, red if in combat, or blue if normal.
New in version 1.1
There is a new dropdown menu in the options, where you can select how to use AmbientAura. Settings are also now stored per character. You can use AmbientAura to display:
- Combat/Resting
This is how AmbientAura works by default.
- In Combat = red
- Resting = green
- Normal = blue
- Warrior stances
- Battle stance = red
- Defensive stance = blue
- Berserker stance = green
- Death Knight auras
- Blood presence = red
- Frost presence = blue
- Unholy presence = green
- Red fog always
- Blue fog always
- Green fog always
FAQ:
Where are the options?
The options panel is located on the addons page of the Interface Options panel. Hit escape, go to Interface, click the AddOns tab, and you'll see AmbientAura listed there. You can also get there by /ambientaura or /aa.
I want the fog easier to see (or to see through).
