OPie is a radial action-binding addon, enabling you to bind groups of infrequently used actions to a ring that appears when you trigger it using a hot key / mouse binding.
Consider some of the common items taking up action bar space:
Usable quest items
Potions, Health stones, Mana gems
Damage-aborbing shields (when was the last time you used Frost Ward?)
Shape shifts and stances; along with your mount.
Foods: biscuits, stat buffs, arena water, underspore pods?
Leatherworking drums.
Your once-in-a-blue-moon-on-a-Thursday cooldowns.
Download OPie, group those into rings (/rk), bind rings to mouse buttons (/opie), enjoy uncluttered combat in style. See the features page for more detail.

Probably more general to /macro macros that end up using items. Making a note to take a second look at that for the next release.

Open the OPie bindings configuration, click on the button you're trying to bind, and hold shift-F8. At this point, it should turn white and work. If it does not work, turn off all addons but OPie and try again. If that still does not work, I need a screenshot of the OPie bindings configuration and a description of what happens when you press the binding.

I'm trying to bind the quest circle to shift-F8. It shows up in the binding box but it is grayed out. Under keybindings I bound it to something and then clicked unbind just to make sure it wasn't being used by something else. (It was not.) I tried setting it again in the opie config and its still grayed out and non-operational

My OPie also does not remember the BF skin, has to be reset each login. Dominos and SBF remember the settings.
Update OPie, update ButtonFacade. Disable all other addons; see if the issue persists. I still can't replicate it -- any more detail as to what happens would be awesome.

I think WoW always treats it as a modifier rather than a separate key -- you're probably going to have to remap it.

That's actually a distinct issue form Berdan's; the latest update should address it and a few other problems.

I was just wondering if it was possible to have an option of some kind to disable mouse interaction until the "tap" threshold has been past.
Possibly; need to give that some thought.

Works for me; you're going to have to be more specific about the version you've installed, and how you determine that there is no quest items ring.

It's the right place, but what you want can't be done in the way you imagine. All addon-defined slash commands are inherently insecure, and showing a ring (protected frame) requires secure code.

I'd be tempted to blame it on the BF configuration UI; you're probably resetting your configuration without realizing it.

Any thoughts?
Some, mostly to do with how macro identifiers are stored (id rather than name). I can't reproduce reshuffling on reloading UI, although it's not altogether impossible. We'll see if that manages to survive the identifier change.
berdan: fixed for next release.

when you modify the appearance of dominos/opie with buttonfacade everything works fine but one thing, if you try to change the appearance again the settings are reset to default but the bar still look like the choosen settings.
in short, buttonfacade edit mode doesn't seem to remember the settings that is being applied and show the default one everytime.
is this a buttonfacade problem or a dominos/opie one ?
ps: copied this to these 3 addons.
ps2: with opie the apperance is also reset to default, the settings doesn't stick for a new wow session.
I'm not sure if this is the place for feature requests, or if this feature is already in OPie, but it would be great if there was a /slash command to toggle rings. This would essentially allow you to create radial menus. Put the slash command into a macro and put it on an opie ring, and you could open another ring. This would allow you to access almost all your rings with just one keybound ring, or master ring. Don't know if this is possible, but it seems like it would be because each subring would still be activated with a click. Anyways, great addon, screen real estate went way up after getting this addon. Keep up the good work.

Dunno if this is related, but other quirky behavior is "/opie" brings up the ui menu, but with a random (not necessarily opie) mod selected.
Of course, this pales in comparison to the real problem, which is macros getting swapped out of custom rings whenever I log out.
