PolMonitor   Popular!
This addon helps you make sure you have all the buffs you should have, that your target and focus target have the debuffs they should have, and that you're using your spell and item cooldowns as often as possible. It does this by letting you set up monitors for the buffs, debuffs, spells/skills and items you're interested in. The monitors appear visually as standard action buttons on the screen.

When everything is ok (you have the monitored buff, your target has the debuff, the cooldown is running, ..) the corresponding button is faded out. When something is missing or the cooldown is up the button becomes fully opaque, signaling that something needs to be done. Buttons that represent skills/spells/items you have can be clicked to trigger the appropriate action.

Use /polmonitor to configure.

- Added target selection (self, pet, target, focus target) to buff monitors.

2008-07-27 - 1.1.6

2008-07-23 - 1.1.4
- Fixed the uglified frame border back to how it originally was!

2008-07-23 - 1.1.3
- Cooldown support. For spell and item cooldown monitors the actual cooldown is used, for buff and target debuff monitors the time left on the (de)bugg is used instead.
- Groups are now scaleable
- Default target for spell cooldown monitors can now be configured

2008-07-21 - 1.1.0
- Converted to Ace3.
- Added ButtonFacade and cyCircled support. Sadly I couldn't find a good way to dynamically update cyCircled with new/deleted groups, so it will only be able to interact with groups that were there the last time the GUI was loaded.
- Stopped using my own haxed button template. This uglified the buttons somewhat (to my eyes at least), but made it simpler to work with ButtonFacade and cyCircled.

a legit help question, the new pally buff, Sacred Shield(Rank 1) active 30sek. it gives a 500 dmg absorb on first hit and a buff (to the pally who casted it)also called Sacred Shield for 5 sec, that increases crit chance on Flash of Light by 50%. iv got the spell setup to remind me in combat to cast it if its not up, but the problem is i want it 2 show the 5sec buff in my other grp for temp buffs like art of war, wich gives u an instant flash of light, obviosly so i get crit flashed or flash someone else almost each time. Any way to get around that they have the exact same name?. cheers.

Feature Request: Not sure if this lies in the vision you have for your addon, but I'd love to see stances and/or other buffs as optional conditions for showing a monitored spell as active.

Example #1: I play a ret pally for leveling. (I've always wanted to go Holy once I hit endgame, and I'm still planning on it, and I was ret for leveling way before ret was OP!) Sometimes, I still heal instances though. Sometimes I tank them. I have gear for all 3 roles, and ret is fairly versatile. I would love to have a polmonitor that reminds me to put up Blessing of Kings if Righteous Fury is up, indicating that I'm probably tanking at the moment. Otherwise, it would keep me reminded to put up Blessing of Might.

Example #2: I also play a feral tank. In the endless Kara runs I've done on him, I've amassed a pretty decent resto set, and I occassionally help people as healer for regular instances. (Can you tell that I love versatile classes?) Thorns should be on any tank all the time, and should never be on anybody else because if they pull aggro, it makes it harder to pull back off them. I'd love to see PolMonitor remind me to keep thorns up, but only when I'm in bear form.

I know this would probably require a lot of work. Thoughts?

alpha for bar?

Would it be possible that the alpha for the bar be less than 100% when all the cooldowns are up? I like the fade when it is on cooldown. However, I don't want the buttons to have 100% alpha when the cooldown is up. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Good point. I've been working around this by setting the target for non-targeted spells to None in the options, but I've now uploaded a new version that defaults to this setting on spell cooldown monitors for spells that don't have a range (it won't change existing monitors automatically though).

Trouble hitting buttons with no target

I started using polmonitor to put my cooldowns where I can see them right below my toon near the action, but noticed a bug.

If I do not have a mob targeted it does not seem to let me click on the buttons to launch some of my point based AoEs (the spells do not require a target, they judt poof around me).

Consecration and Divine Storm are the main two I have noticed, as people will pull an AoE pack and I'll try to click on them, get nothing, then have to click an enemy and go back to clicking on them - and hope the enemy is not dead so I can use the ability.

I'm sort of new to DPS though, so I'm sure those more experienced at tab targetting and using all sorts of abilities on their keyboard mght not have the trouble I did.

aw to bad, still works good tho, any posibility of making buttons bit larger than the scale limit in config?. cheers.

1.1.17

Added range checking. Using RedRange directly wouldn't work since the buttons aren't normal action buttons but I, uh, borrowed some things.

Please note that I haven't tested this a lot, so shout out if anything's off. Also note that range checking only works when the monitor is set to use your current target, not for focus, pet etc.

Edit: Oh, and, it doesn't work for macros.

Edit2: Grr. I can't figure out how to get other mouse buttons to work right.
